Tata Motors CV business gets orders for over 2,500 units

The OEM says it has bagged 65 percent of the orders for fully built buses to provide passenger comfort and convenience and offers.

Domestic CV major, Tata Motors today announced that it has got orders for over 2,500 units from institutional customers.

The company says it recently got an order for 1,045 buses from Gujarat State Roadways Transport Corporation (GSRTC) and 1,000 Winger ambulances from National Health Mission (NRHM), Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Himachal and Haryana.

The OEM says it has bagged 65 percent of the orders for fully built buses to provide passenger comfort and convenience. The CV maker says the order includes Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) on 400 buses for maintenance of ITS systems as value added services to customers.

Commenting on the order, Girish Wagh, president- CVBU, Tata Motors, said, “The demand for public transportation is rapidly increasing in India with the government’s thrust towards providing smart, safe and convenient mode of commute to the citizens.”

At present, Tata Motors says it offers a comprehensive range of buses catering to an entire gamut of day-to-day travelling needs - from luxurious intercity travel options, to safe transport and driver-friendly products. The company's portfolio consists of a range of solutions powered by alternate fuels such as hybrid, electric, CNG, LNG and articulated buses to meet the future transportation needs of the envisaged 'Smart Cities’,  aimed at reducing pollution and promoting an eco-friendly transport system in the country
