Tata Motors has introduced a limited-edition model to its Tigor range. Called the Tigor Buzz, the compact sedan is based on the mid-spec XT trim and is priced at Rs 568,000 for the petrol variant and Rs 657,000 lakh for the diesel variant (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).

The Tigor Buzz gets minor cosmetic tweaks to differentiate it from the standard car. On the outside, changes include a glossy black roof and piano black finish on the mirrors, as well as dual-tone wheel covers and red inserts on the front grille.

The cabin is quite similar to the regular Tigor XT, with the only extra treatment being red accents on the air-con vents and upmarket fabric for the seats. Overall, the cosmetic updates on the limited-edition model are more or less in line with the Tiago Wizz launched a few months ago.

Mechanically, the Tigor Buzz is identical to the standard car, which means it is powered by the 85hp, 1.2-litre Revotron (petrol) and the 70hp, 1.05-litre Revotorq (diesel) engine, both mated to the five-speed manual transmission.

The Tigor hasn't been a fast-moving model for Tata Motors, but with this special-edition model, the company aims to give the car a much-needed shot in the arm to push sales.

In the first two months of the ongoing fiscal (April-May 2018), Tata Motors has sold a total of 38,359 passenger vehicles, marking solid year-on-year growth of 44.40 percent. This gives it a current PV market share of 6.40 percent, which is 1.38 percentage points higher than in April-May 2017.
