Tata AutoComp and Fortaco to make cabins for off-highway vehicles in India

Following an extensive market survey to understand and define the needs of the local market, a safety cabin has been designed by the Fortaco Group to suit Indian conditions and safety requirements.

Tata AutoComp Systems, India’s leading automotive component conglomerate, and the Fortaco Group, the leading European strategic partner to the heavy off-highway equipment, have signed an agreement under which Tata AutoComp will manufacture safety cabins for off-highway vehicles in India.

Following an extensive market survey to understand and define the needs of the local market, a safety cabin has been designed by the Fortaco Group to suit Indian conditions and safety requirements. The safety cabin will be manufactured in India by Tata AutoComp based on technology, design and specifications developed by Fortaco Group.

According to Arvind Goel, MD and CEO Tata AutoComp said: “The off-highway vehicle market is developing rapidly in India and demand on safety and comfort have started increasing amongst the users. With this arrangement, we aim to enhance our offering to the off-highway and farm equipment OEMs.”

Tata AutoComp Systems has eight joint ventures in partnership with leading companies from the global auto component Industry through which it manufactures and markets automotive components and systems like engine cooling solutions, automotive batteries, rearview mirrors, command systems, HVAC, exhaust and emission control systems, seating systems, electronic solutions and battery packs for passenger and commercial vehicles as well as suspensions for heavy commercial vehicles. Tata AutoComp has 36 manufacturing facilities spread across India and nine facilities in North America, Latin America, Europe and China.
