Supply chain constraints dent Motherson Sumi’s Q1 performance
Motherson Sumi Systems reported profit after tax of Rs 290 crores in Q1FY2022.
Global supply chain constraints including semiconductor shortages and lower production by OEMs as a result of these challenges has impacted Motherson Sumi Systems’ performance in Q1FY2022.
Commenting on the Q1 performance, Vivek Chaand Sehgal, Chairman, Motherson Sumi Systems said, “We have witnessed many localised and unpredictable challenges such as lower OEM production due to unavailability of semiconductor chips, higher commodity and logistics costs in this quarter."
Sehgal expects, "these headwinds to ease in the upcoming quarters as demand for personal mobility remains strong.” Motherson Sumi Systems reported profit after tax of Rs 290 crores in Q1FY2022 compared to a loss of Rs 810 crores in Q1FY2021. It posted revenue of Rs 16,712 crores in Q1FY2022.
