The Sonalika Group has set up a new high-tech harvester manufacturing facility at Amb in Himachal Pradesh, with an investment of Rs 200 crore. The company has also rolled out a new harvester called Sonalika Samrat at Rs 25.5 lakh.

Spread across 29 acres, one of the highlights of the new facility is the multi-stage CED (Cathode Electric Deposition) paint process which involves a 14-stage treatment that ensures a rust-free lifecyle for the harvester.

The Sonalika Samrat harvester is fully equipped with next-gen technologies that help reduce tedious labour during the harvesting season. The company claims the new combine harvester will maximise crop yield and avoid quality deterioration as well as minimise any crop losses. The Sonalika Samrat facilitates operations like reaping, threshing and winnowing and designed for farmers to obtain maximum yield with ease and comfort in operations during harvesting of wheat, paddy, barley, soybean, sunflower, mustard, green gram and black gram.

According to Raman Mittal, Executive Director, Sonalika Group, “It is in Sonalika’s DNA to innovate aggressively while keeping farmers at the core of every new development. Farmers are on a constant lookout for technologies in farming that enhance their productivity and efficiency in an affordable way. Our new plant at Amb, HP has been installed with world class technologies to manufacture high-tech harvesters that significantly increase farmers’ productivity.”

The highlights of the Sonalika Samarat include projector headlights, LED tail-lamps, comfortable seating and adjustable ergonomic steering. The diesel engine develops 101 hp at 2200rpm and is coupled with a five-speed constant mesh gearbox for smoother operations.

Every combine harvester that rolls out of the Amb plant is tested for speed, braking and performance before despatch. The Sonalika Samrat combine harvester will available in 2WD and along with various attachments to suit farmer requirements.
