SmartE to expand e-three-wheelers 10-fold to 10,000 units
SmartE, which inaugurated two new EV charging hubs in Delhi-NCR today, is looking to aggressively expand its EV fleet.
SmartE, a leading electric mobility service offering first and last-mile connectivity in Delhi-NCR, today inaugurated two new charging hubs at Uttam Nagar and Rajouri Garden Metro Station. With these additions, SmartE will now serve more than 20 metro stations in Delhi-NCR. With these two units, SmartE now has a total of eight EV charging hubs and a fleet of nearly 1,000 EVs.
The company has rolled out 300 electric three-wheelers in the first phase for Uttam Nagar East Station, which it says will help nearly 30,000 commuters commute on a daily basis. Meanwhile, another 50 electric three-wheelers will be part of the first phase from Rajouri Garden Metro Station (Pink Line) that will serve 5,000 commuters every day.
A K Garg, Director Operations, DMRC and Guest Of Honour, Shalini Singh, Joint Commissioner, Western Range, Delhi Police flagged off the e-rickshaws. By end of the year, SmartE is looking to make its services available across nearly 50 Metro Stations on the DMRC network. The company is also looking to ramp up its fleet ten-fold, from the current 1,000 to nearly 10,000 in 18-24 months' time.
