Skoda Auto India has launched the Kushaq Monte Carlo edition, priced from Rs 15.99 lakh for the 1.0-litre TSI manual variant, and going up to Rs 19.49 ex-showroom, for the top-end 1.5-litre TSI automatic trim.

However, the special trim is only offered Tornedo Red and Candy White exterior paint shades, and is aimed at driving enthusiasts who prefer a standout look for their cars.

On the inside, it gets a dual-tone red-and-black upholstery for the seats, along with red accents on the dashboard, door pads and centre console. The Monte Carlo edition also brings a full-digital instrument cluster to the Kushaq’s cabin.

In terms of powertrain, the Kushaq Monte Carlo offers both 115hp, 1.0-litre, TSI petrol as well as the 150hp, 1.5-litre TSI mill. The transmission options include a 6-speed manual, 6-speed torque convertor automatic as well as a 7-speed DSG automatic unit. Skoda has also introduced an idle-start-stop system in the 1.0 TSI unit to enhance fuel efficiency.

According to Zac Hollis, brand director, Skoda Auto India, “The Monte Carlo is a car that appeals to the heart, to one willing to go the extra mile for the unique, subtle and sporty aesthetics.”

Skoda plans to treble its sales in India in this year to about 71,000 units, its leadership has said it plans to further scale up to 1,00,000 units by 2025. The company has planned six launches in the current year.
