Resumes single-shift operations in strict compliance of safety norms issued by Central, state and local authorities.
Skoda Auto Volkswagen India has restarted production at its Pune facility with full compliance to applicable government regulations and directions of local authorities. The commencement of operation follows the company issuing a comprehensive 60-point ‘Start Safe’ guide prepared in close collaboration with medical practitioners.
Headquartered in Pune, Skoda Auto Volkswagen India is the new company that represents passenger vehicle entities of Volkswagen Group in India and formed following the merger of Volkswagen India, Skoda Auto India and Volkswagen Group Sales India. It operates two manufacturing facilities at Chakan, Pune and Shendra, Aurangabad and employs over 4,400 people across functions and locations in India.
The company staffers are practicing ‘Start Safe’ protocols. From wearing face masks at all times, maintaining safe distance and using additional PPEs like gloves in production areas, they also maintain safe distances during floor meetings, training, tea and lunch breaks.
Special measures including additional PPEs like gloves are required for areas which may be touched by multiple people and safe distancing is also applied with full PPE in the body shop and also when handling materials.
