The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) in association with Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) and Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) is set to host the 4th edition of HR (Human Resource) Automotive Conclave on May 10, 2019 in Chennai. And the theme for the day-long conclave is ‘Digitisation and Disruption: HR Re-imagined and Redefined’.
The focus of the conference will be on the capabilities and skills required by the auto industry in the future and to understand the ways in which, the ecosystem would have to come together, to help build these capabilities and skills for the organisation, in order to win in the future. The event will also see discussions on the mega trends faced by the Indian auto industry, its implications on people and processes and the way forward for HR.
The day-long event will see discussions and sessions include: Capabilities of the future and human resource strategy; Human Machine - Reskilling for future jobs; Motivational session and Employee experiences — thriving in the digital world. The conclave aims to create the time and space for entrepreneurs, business leaders, line and HR managers and young HR executives of the automobile, auto components industry and dealerships to collectively dialogue on the many challenges that is being faced by organisations and leaders today.
Commenting on the 4th edition of Automotive HR Conclave and the need of organising such events, Sugato Sen, deputy director general, SIAM said, “In an era where change is driven by technology and rapidly changing people preferences, it is imperative for HR to keep pace with the dynamic shifts in the landscape of the Indian automotive industry. SIAM is working to support the young professionals to make them the leaders of tomorrow. We believe that successful mentoring relationship reinforces young HR professionals to meet the challenges and demands of the workplace by developing the right skill competencies.”
Keeping in mind, the radical shifts in the automotive landscape with technological advances and the need for HR to keep up pace with it, SIAM says it is committed to empower the vertical (HR). The auto body is keen to invest in the growth of young professionals by preparing them before-hand for the challenges they may encounter on their path. With more professionals entering the workplace, there are high-expectations of professional development opportunities, training and skilling support. The deliberations during the day will focus on informal transmission of knowledge, skills and psychological support by leading professionals from the industry.
