Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) has announced senior-level changes in the light of developments in its Asian Business Model. This model that was introduced by Daimler Trucks Asia (DTA) last year, aiming to combine the core strengths of Mitsubishi Fuso FTBC and DICV under the umbrella of DTA, is growing at both operational and functional level. Subsequent to the first phase of integration of R&D & lifecycle management functions, the company is expanding the scope of integration in procurement and supply chain management and logistics.

Satyakam Arya, who was vice-president (procurement) DICV, now moves to Mitsubishi, Japan as the vice-president (procurement), DTA, where he will be global commodity head of mechatronics for Daimler Trucks, effective September 1, 2014.  Yasuhiko Kondo, earlier GM, LCM and governance & operations management procurement, Mitsubishi, replaces Arya.

Following on Erich Nesselhauf’s elevation as MD and & CEO of DICV, Mathew Oommen, who was AVP (product engineering), will take over as VP, SCM, DICV, from August 1.

Arya, who has been with DICV since 2009, was instrumental in establishing a new supplier base for DICV in India catering not only to local but Asian and global requirements.

Oommen has involved in product engineering and full vehicle integration as well as in medium- and heavy-duty projects from DICV’s inception and has made substantial contributions to DICV’s focus to build trucks for India.
