The first batch of students includes 53 male, and the company plans to include women also in their upcoming programs and are working vastly towards creating a women-first environment in the GMH.

Schwing Stetter India begins its Operator Skills Training program in Cheyyar

Manufacturer of concreting, construction and mining equipment aims to train over 10,000 individuals over the next four years.

Schwing Stetter India, one of the larger manufacturers of concreting, construction and mining equipment, today kicked off its first Operator Skill Training Program at the Global Manufacturing Hub in Cheyyar, Chennai.

The one-month extensive course, which is accredited by IESC and affiliated to NSDC, has 53 students comprising two batches. These students will be trained in operating three key products: boom pumps,self-loading concrete mixers, and excavators.

Schwing Stetter inaugurated its largest facility in Tamil Nadu – the Global Manufacturing Hub – in February 2021. The state-of-the-art integrated facility comprising 50,000 square metres of built up area, will manufacture concrete boom pumps, stationary pumps, self-loading mixers, shotcrete pumps, excavators, wheel loaders and motor graders. The facility also houses a Centre of Excellence for training individuals in concreting products. The CoE has partnered with the IESC Skill Council and includes a state-of-the-art, training centre that will provide skilling to the youth across nearby districts.

Schwing Stetter has committed to skill and train 10,000 men and women across nearby districts to make them employable. This training program will empower individuals with the right way to approach heavy machinery and become highly skilled operators.

After training and certification through this program, the candidates can look for a rewarding career in verticals such as Infrastructure , Construction and  Ready mix Concrete producing companies. Schwing Stetter will be sharing the resumes of passed out candidates to these companies for prospective job opportunities.

At our new facility, our focus has been on providing modernised training and empowering local residents at Cheyyar and nearby districts. Our goal to train 10,000 individuals is ambitious, which is definitely possible over the coming years."
