SBD Green Energy and Infra India, will supply state-run energy EESL 720 AC charging stations to be deployed across India
Gurgaon-based SBD Green Energy and Infra India, a green solutions company, has announced that it has bagged an order from Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL) for supply of 720 AC charging stations to be deployed across India. The company states the retail cost of one charging station to be around Rs 60,180.
According to Satya Narayan Dalmia, managing director, SBD Green Energy and Infra, “E-mobility is strategically the most important and forward galloping vision and decision by the government of India. The government is taking steps like procurement of EVs, replacement of existing government vehicles and creating the necessary infrastructure for EVs. A holistic view towards this will obviously pave the way towards success of e-mobility in India.”
Dalmia further stated that the government’s initiative will contribute towards growing the economy, without compromising on the environment. This would lead to reduction in fuel consumption along with reducing fiscal deficit on the account of fuel import.
He says the government will need to incentivise EVs to help reduce the initial cost of purchase and provide sufficient charging infrastructure. To make a stronger positive impact on the environment, Dalmia states that the charging facility must use renewable energy instead of conventional energy.
SBD Green Energy and Infra India is working on research, innovation and solutions in the field of EV charging, and is also considering retail sales for its charging stations.
