Ring Plus Aqua's CEO moves to UNO Minda
The UNO Minda Group has roped in Laxman Katakkar as its president.
The UNO Minda Group has roped in Laxman Katakkar as one of its presidents. Katakkar was CEO and director at the Raymond Group's Ring Plus Aqua before taking up the new role. He had a six-and-a-half-year stint at Ring Plus Aqua, which is a component supplier.
Katakkar has experience of around 14 years in the automotive industry. He had also served in Tata AutoComp (TACO) as its European operations head and later held the COO's role in TACO's interior and plastics divison. At Uno Minda, he will be responsible for the Group's overall business growth, as well as expanding into new business areas.
The UNO Minda Group is a leading Tier 1 supplier of automotive solutions to OEMs. It has 37 manufacturing plants in India, Indonesia, Vietnam and Spain, design centres in Taiwan and Japan, sales offices in USA, Europe and Vietnam. It also has a strategic sourcing office in China. It also has engineering, research and development centres in Manesar, Pune and Sonepat in India.
The 8,500-member Group is headquartered in Manesar, Haryana and manufactures two-wheeler switches and handlebar assemblies, electronics and sensors, four-wheeler switches and heater control panels, automotive lamps, horns, alternate fuel systems and CNG-LPG kits, automotive batteries, blow molding components, seat belts, alloy wheels, wheel covers, air filtration systems, die casting components, SRC, cylinders, steering wheels, airbags, fuel caps, body sealing, car infotainment systems, air brakes, clutch actuation systems and automatic gear shifters.
