Part of the BMW Group, Mini has launched the facelifted versions of the three iterations of the iconic Mini hatchback – Mini three-door hatchback, Mini Convertible and the Mini John Cooper Works (JCW) – in India, at prices of Rs 38 lakh, Rs 44 lakh and Rs 45.50 lakh, ex-showroom. The refreshed Mini range of products come as completely built units (CBUs) and will be offered only in a petrol engine option.

The 2021 Mini range gets a host of exterior updates including new alloy wheel designs, new LED headlights with integrated LED foglamps, and LED side-turn indicators which have been positioned inside the redesigned side scuttles.

While the British flag-inspired rear LED lights continue to bear the Union Jack design, the rear fog lamp is now integrated into the rear apron as a narrow LED unit. The new air intakes are vertically integrated with the bodywork and increase aerodynamics. The JCW model, on the other hand, gets a more aggressive look with full-black grille and prominent air vents in the front bumper.

The three models get a revised set of 17-inch alloy wheels as well, while the JCW gets optional 18-inch wheels.

On the inside, the cabin gets new upholstery in cloth-leatherette combination in Black Pearl Light Chequered and Black Pearl Carbon Black options, a new 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system as well as a five-inch digital instrument cluster. The Mini JCW, however, gets sportier seats and steering, a surround-sound audio system from Harman Kardon as well as cruise control.

The three updated Mini models come powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that develops 192bhp and 280Nm. While the Mini three-door hatch claims a 0-100kph time of 6.7 seconds, the same stands at 7.1 seconds for the Mini Convertible.

The Mini three-door hatch and convertible come with a 7-speed double clutch Steptronic transmission, while the JCW gets an 8-Speed Steptronicsport transmission. There are three driving modes on offer too – MID, Sport and Green.

The refreshed Mini range gets park assistance, cruise control and head-up display along with dynamic stability control, cornering braking control and dual airbags.
