With the entire Indian automobile industry bearing the brunt of the economy’s slowdown and showing little or no sign of revival, vehicle manufacturers across segments have had to rejig production to reduce rising inventory levels. While a number of OEMs have already had production cuts and/or announced no-production days, the automotive supply chain is now being impacted.

Earlier today, Coimbatore-based components manufacturer Pricol announced non-working days for eight out of its 10 plants in the country.

The precision-engineered technological solutions company caters to the two- and three-wheeler, cars and vans, tractors, commercial vehicles, off-road vehicles and industrial application segments.

The company says the move to reduce production is to align production with its sales requirements. Pricol has announced that its plants will follow no-production in the range of one to six days in September 2019.
