PMV Electric launches India's first electric Quadricycle
Lightweight EV, which has a top speed of 70kph, is India’s most affordable EV on four wheels.
Mumbai-based electric vehicle start-up PMV Electric has unveiled its two-seater Quadricycle chrisetened as the EaS-E. Launched at a starting price of Rs 479,000, the EaSE now becomes the most affordable four-wheeled electric car in India.
While the introductory price is for the first 10,000 customers, the PMV electric two-seater is Rs 370,000 cheaper than the 315km-range Tata Tiago EV which, at Rs 849,000, was till now India’s most affordable electric vehicle on four wheels.
The EaS-E comes with one-plus-one (similar to a jet fighter) seating arrangement but with four doors for easy ingress or egress. The vehicle stands 2,915mm in length, 1,157mm in width and 1,600mm in height on a wheelbase of 2,087mm, while the ground clearance will stand at 170mm.
Three driving range options are being offered — 120km,160km and 200km. PMV Electric claims a top speed of 70kph and a 0-40kph in under 5 seconds for the 550kg car, which can accommodate two adults and a child.
The micro car is 4G enabled and and will have different driving modes, which can be accessed through a dashboard. The features includes EaS-E mode for feet-free driving, remote parking assist, cruise control, remote connectivity and diagnostics, Bluetooth connectivity, onboard navigation, access to music control and call control to the connected smartphone. EaS-E can be charged from any 15A outlet in 3-4 hours with its onboard charger, as per the company.

PMV Electric has begun accepting pre-orders at a Rs 2,000 for the EaS-E and claims to have received over 6,000 from India and international markets.
The start-up is in talks to set up its manufacturing unit in Pune along with its partners who will be collaborating in taking the vehicle into production. The company aims to commence deliveries by mid-2023 and conduct the test rides close to deliveries.
Currently, online bookings for the EaS-E is available at PMV's website at Rs 2000. The company says that the cost for 2 people travelling in this car works out to 0.75 paise per km.
