Piaggio Vehicles (PVPL), a subsidiary of the Italian Piaggio Group, has launched a new e-commerce platform for its Ape brand of small commercial vehicles.

The OEM says it had earlier launched the e-commerce website for its two-wheeler range of products on June 10, 2020. Now a new e-commerce platform is being launched for its commercial vehicle brand Ape, keeping in mind the requirement of commercial vehicle customers. The new platform integrates all Piaggio commercial vehicle dealerships across India for local connect and a standardised delivery experience.

Piaggio says this initiative is an effort towards enriching the customer experience by delivering a differentiated value proposition. A customer can plan and purchase Ape brand SCV by going to the company’s website – www.apeautomall.com. Through the e-commerce platform, the customers can easily navigate through various sections of the website. Once the customer selects his city, the models applicable in that market would be displayed for him to conveniently choose from, and he/she can also access product features and technical information on this platform.

The customers will be able to get the ex-showroom and on-road price for their city, calculate their EMI, apply for a loan from their preferred financier and book online by paying Rs 1,000. The payments can be done securely through various options like pay wallets, net-banking, credit card or debit card as per their choice. Piaggio says it has also provided various finance options to the customer who can apply for the required amount of loan on the platform itself. After documentation and final payment the selected vehicle will be delivered to the customer’s doorstep by trained dealership staff with all safety measures followed.

Diego Graffi, chairman and MD, Piaggio Vehicles said, “As a leader brand in the 3-wheeler cargo category and a leading small commercial vehicle brand, Piaggio believes in providing the best services and solutions to our customers in line with changing buying behaviours. The launch of this unique platform in the commercial vehicle space will enable our customers to book their selected model from the comfort of their homes without visiting the showroom. We feel that this one of its kind offering in the Indian CV space will benefit our customers in many ways. We are constantly innovating with our products and processes to address the needs of changing times, and we have planned many more initiatives in the near future for our customers.”

The company says the nationwide reopening of dealerships has already started with all care taken of sanitisation and following of regulations. At present, a majority of PVPL dealerships are functional ensuring customers have access to the free service and warranty extensions the company began offering at the start of the Covid-19 crisis.
