Omega Seiki to deploy Log 9 Materials fast-charging battery tech in three-wheelers

The new battery can be charged in under 35 minutes and wil provide a range of upto 100km.

Omega Seiki, part of Anglian Omega Group of companies has announced a strategic partnership with Bangalore-based Log 9 Materials to introduce rapid charging batteries technology in its Rage+ electric three-wheeler platform.

This the company claims will be the first time in India that fast charging technology is being introduced in commercial three-wheelers. The battery tech will be first introduced in Range+ in two variants, a 5.8 kWh, 120 Ah unit and a 6.5 kWh, 140 Ah battery which will take 30 minutes and 35 minutes respectively to charge fully. Both variants can operate in temperatures between -40deg Celsius and 65deg Celsius. Developed by Log 9 Materials, the batteries have 15,000 charge cycles, and a 15-year warranty. The batteries will provide Rage+ a range of around 65-100km when fully charged.

This will drive adoption of EVs in the last mile sector where there is a huge pent-up demand.”

The partners are specifically targeting B2B last-mile delivery segment for the deployment for the rapid charging batteries in the Rage+ RapidEV variant of the original Rage+ platform.
