Omega Seiki Mobility (OSM), in partnership with Bangalore-based energy tech start-up Log 9 Materials, has launched what it claims is India’s fastest charging electric 3-wheeler ‘Rage+ Rapid EV’.

It maybe recollected that on May 12, OSM had inked a strategic partnership with Log 9 Materials to introduce rapid charging batteries technology in its Rage+ electric three-wheeler platform. The EV maker has now commenced booking for Rage+ Rapid EV in two variants: Rage+ RapidEV Open Carrier Half Tray (discounted ex-showroom price Rs 359,000) and Rage+ RapidEV with 140 cubic feet top body container (discounted ex-showroom price Rs 399,000). Customers can pre-book the e3Ws for Rs 10,000. The introductory price is valid only for the first 1,000 customers.

Uday Narang, founder and chairman, Omega Seiki Mobility said, “Omega Seiki Mobility believes that the way to develop faster EV Technology is through creating alliances. We are elated to partner with Log 9 Materials as we share common values of creating made-in-India and made-for-India products. OSM is at the pinnacle of the cargo EV segment in India and with today’s launch of Rage+ Rapid EV, I am sure our customers will be delighted with the unique value proposition offered. Resolving range anxiety with industry-leading charging time will lead to more uptime for last mile logistics customers as well as entrepreneurs, adding more firepower to their business. For the last 6 months OSM’s electric three-wheelers powered by green energy have covered more than 1 million kilometres on ground leading to a reduction of over 1,200-tonne of CO2 emissions. With this association with Log 9, we will be taking this number exponentially high.”

Dr. Akshay Singhal, founder and CEO, Log 9 Materials said, “We are happy to roll-out the festive season pre-booking offer of Rage+ RapidEV in partnership with Omega Seiki Mobility. With Log 9’s InstaCharge technology which allow 9x faster charging, 9x more battery life and 9x higher performance as compared to the existing EV batteries in the Indian market, these Rage+ Rapid EV 3-wheelers will enable vehicle owners to save a lot of charging time, increase uptime, deliver more and thus make more money with deliveries per shift. The value propositions of the Rage+ Rapid EV variants make them superlative and truly revolutionary offering for the commercial 3W EV market in India.”

Both variants of Omega Seiki’s Rage+ Rapid EVs consist of RapidX 6000 fast-charging batteries based on the flagship InstaCharge technology innovated by Log 9 Materials, which in turn enable the vehicles to get fully charged within 35 minutes. This makes them the fastest-charging 3-wheelers available in India currently. The batteries are optimally designed to work within demanding Indian weather conditions between operating temperatures of -30deg Celsius to +60deg Celsius, allowing up to 40,000 charge-discharge cycles and over 10 years of battery life. The e3Ws will have a range of more than 90km per charge.

Furthermore, the Rage+ Rapid EVs – powered by Log 9’s InstaCharge technology – also come along with Rs 100,000 buy back guarantee within 5 years (after the purchase). Additionally, Rage+ Rapid EV offers a 5-year vehicle warranty and 6-year battery warranty. To further add to the value proposition for the customers, Log 9 will also offer - ‘InstaCharge on Demand’ – a phone-call-based EV charging service that brings Log 9’s unique high-power charger to the vehicle owners’ preferred location, and they will also be providing the customers access to Log 9’s newly-developed ‘InstaCharge App’ – a mobile app that guides a person in Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi, and other metro cities to easily find in real time the nearest EV charging station based on their location.
