Ola clocks highest average speed of 24.8kph in Hyderabad

Bangalore-headquartered ride sharing platform Ola  shared some interesting statistics for 2019. The data reveals that the average speed for an Ola vehicle was 24.8kph in Hyderabad, followed by Delhi (23.5kph), Chennai (23.1kph), Mumbai (22.7kph), Pune (22.6kph), Bangalore (21.3kph) and Kolkata at 19.4kph.

In total Ola says its overall fleet covered a distance of over 6 billion kilometre, which the company says is equivalent to over a kilometre for every person in the whole of Asia. The company claims that customers opting for Ola managed to keep around 1.4 million cars off the road this year, which enabled a saving of Rs 20.87 crore to its customers.

This includes 366 million kilometre of outstation trips, covering over 11,000 cities and towns, with the longest trip recorded of 891km. An interesting observation that the data points out is that when it comes to leaving for work Ola users in Bangalore left the earliest (9.30am), followed by Pune (9.41am) and Delhi (9.42am), while the observation when it comes to travelling back to home from work saw Bangalore users leave at around 6.44pm, Pune 6.31pm and Delhi 6.27pm.
