NZ's SHPG eyes more business from India

Would you go all the way to New Zealand to test your tyres for winter drying? Well, New Zealand’s Southern Hemisphere Proving Grounds (SHPG), which is participating at the Automotive Testing Expo in Chennai (March 19-21) is keen to get Indian companies to use its facilities in that country.

SHPG lies in New Zealand’s Southern Alps and experiences winter from January to mid- September. This is the time when the company would like to get potential clients from Asia to opt to testing in New Zealand. The company has a lot of customers from Thailand and has done some testing for the likes of Apollo Tyres, TVS Motor Co and MRF.

Winter testing is important for companies that aim to export their vehicles to Europe and the US. Using a range of regulatory and industry-developed testing procedures, SHPG has positioned itself as a one-stop shop for real- world, low friction, tyre performance testing, development and regulatory validation.
