Launched on May 16, 2018, the second-generation Honda Amaze sedan has crossed 30,000 unit sales in the domestic market. This, according to Honda Cars India, is the fastest sales recorded by any new model launched by the Japanese carmaker in its 20 years of India operations.

The new Amaze has given a fillip to Honda’s overall passenger vehicles sales. The company has, in the April to July 2018 period, sold a total of 62,579 units, which marks year-on-year growth of 12.46 percent. Honda, which currently has a 5.37 percent PV market share in India, says the petrol CVT and industry-first diesel CVT have accounted for more than 30 percent of total Amaze sales since its launch. Also, the market response to the car has been good across Tier 1, 2 and 3 markets.

In only its second month of sales, the new Amaze debuted in India’s Top 10 PVs list in June with sales of 9,103 units, following it up with a repeat performance in July with sales of 10,180 units.

The Amaze, in its latest avatar, offers quite a value-packed proposition, with its spacious cabin, standard safety kit, contemporary features, and the unique diesel CVT option. Cue enough for buyers to queue up for the latest Honda sedan.

Commenting on the growing sales of the new Amaze,  Makoto Hyoda, director, Sales and Marketing, Honda Cars India, said, “Built on an all-new platform, the new Amaze has been developed as a proper sedan from ground-up which helps it stand apart from the rest. The customers have really appreciated this aspect and accepted the car very well. We are thankful to our customers for this response which has made the all-new Amaze the most successful launch in HCIL’s history. This success reflects the strong customer confidence in the Amaze and this car will be a strong pillar for HCIL business.”
