Multi-brand dealer Group Landmark to sell EVs, BYD cars in India

Dealer for Mercedes-Benz, Honda, Jeep, Volkswagen and Renault brands diversified into EVs; to now sell the BYD E6 MPV

Automobile dealer Group Landmark, which has 113 outlets across India and represents passenger vehicle manufacturers like Mercedes-Benz, Honda, Jeep, Volkswagen and Renault in India, has diverfied into the electric vehicle segment

The multi-brand dealer has tied up with BYD, which launched its all-electric E6 MPV in India on November 1, priced at Rs 29.15 lakh. Group Landmark will retail the Byd E6 from its showrooms in Delhi-NCR and Mumbai. 

China’s BYD is the fourth largest EV manufacturer in the world. BYD India, a subsidiary of Chinese electric carmaker BYD (Build Your Dreams). The five-seater MPV, which has a 71.7kWh lithium iron phosphate battery that develop 95hp, has a top speed of 130kph with a WLTC (city) range of 520km and a WLTC (combined) range of 415km on a single charge. It supports both AC and DC fast charging which can support a DC fast charging from 30% to 80% within 35 minutes.

BYD India and Group Landmark are looking to capitalise on the growing demand for EVs in India. In the April-November 2021 period, as per SIAM industry data, a total of 6,575 electric passenger vehicles were sold, which constitutes a 209% YoY increase (April-November 2020: 2,123 units). 

At present, Group Landmark has 113 outlets across 32 cities in eight states in India. It focuses on new vehicle sales, pre-owned passenger vehicle sales, aftersales service and spares and facilitating sale of third party financial and insurance products.
