M&M sells 61,114 vehicles in October, becomes the Number One SUV player for the second consecutive month

The company’s passenger vehicles segment saw a growth of 60 percent year-on-year.

M&M sells 61,114 vehicles in October, becomes the Number One SUV player for the second consecutive month

Mumbai-based Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), has announced a total of 61,114 units wholesale dispatches during October 2022, on the back of a strong growth of its utility vehicles (UV) sales. 

The company claimed that the 61 percent growth of UV sales at 32,226 units has helped the company become the highest seller of SUVs for the second consecutive month. This is as against 20,034 units sold in October 2021.

 Veejay Nakra, President, Automotive Division, M&M said, “Our sales volume continued to grow in October on the back of strong festive demand. We sold 32,226 SUVs in October, registering a growth of 61 percent fuelled by robust demand across our portfolio. Our Commercial Vehicles also registered strong growth for the month.”  

The passenger vehicles segment for the company which includes UVs, cars and vans sold 32,298 vehicles in October 2022, registering a 60 percent growth when compared with 20,130 units in October 2021. 

In the Commercial Vehicles segment, Mahindra sold 20,980 vehicles in October 2022. Out of the total, LCV < 2T registered a 44 percent growth to 4,562 units in October 2022, as against 3,175 units in October 2021. Likewise, in the LCV 2 T – 3.5 T category, the sales were 15,728 units during October 2022 when compared to 11,178 units in October 2021, a jump of 41 percent. The LCV > 3.5T + MHCV, however, witnessed a slide of five percent to 690 units during October 2022 in comparison to the corresponding period of October 2021, when the company had logged 724 units. 

The three wheelers, including electric, reported 5,081 units sold in October 2022, a spike of 44 percent as against the 3,527 units logged during a similar period last year.
