Mitsubishi India launches its 2018 Outlander at Rs 31.95 lakh
Mitsubishi's first new product for India after six years is available only with a petrol engine, in a single, fully-loaded variant.
Mitsubishi India has officially launched the Outlander SUV at a price of Rs 31.95 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). It is the first all-new Mitsubishi model seen in India in six years – but this generation of the SUV has been on sale internationally in its facelift form since 2015; and is being shipped to India as a CBU unit.
Packing seven seats, the Outlander will only be offered in a single, fully-loaded variant. Features on the Outlander include auto headlights and wipers, an electric sunroof, keyless go, an electric parking brake, paddle shifters, leather seats, dual-zone climate control, a 6.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 710-watt Rockford Fosgate sound system. On the safety front, the Outlander gets seven airbags, hill-start assist and active stability control.
Powering the Outlander is a 2.4-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 167hp and 222Nm of torque. It is paired to a six-step CVT automatic that sends power to all four wheels.
Mitsubishi India Managing Director Uttam Bose says the company is targeting sales of 250-300 units of the Outlander by the end of this fiscal. The Japanese brand is also contemplating bringing the hybrid Outlander PHEV to India.
At this price, the Outlander goes up against the Skoda Kodiaq (Rs 34.84 lakh) and the soon-to-be-launched new Honda CR-V.
