Mercedes-Benz targets young enthusiasts, launches the C-Class Cabriolet at Rs 65.25 lakh
The convertible has been introduced in the country with a new BS VI engine and a few equipments to reduce its aerodynamic drag.
Mercedes-Benz India launches the new C-Class Cabriolet with a completely new BS VI petrol engine. The open-top vehicle comes with a special equipment called the ‘AIRCAP’ system for reducing the airflow in the interior. The luxury carmaker claims that the cost of ownership of the new C-Class Cabriolet starts at just Rs 67,000 for a period of 2 years. The prices start from Rs 65.25 lakhs ex-showroom, all India.
The M 264 four-cylinder engine in the new Cabriolet delivers 258 hp of power and 370 Nm of torque. Mercedes-Benz claims that the vehicle can do a top speed of 250kph and 0-100kph comes in at 6.2 seconds. The carmaker says that the new engine has 13hp of more power as compared to its predecessor.
Michael Jopp, vice president, sales and marketing Mercedes-Benz India said, “The new C-Class Cabriolet further extends the C-Class range with open top motoring. We are certain that the new C-Class Cabriolet will offer enhanced luxury and comfort to our customers and will continue to delight them. This fascinating cabriolet is aimed at the young target audience who enjoy driving an open-top luxury car.”
He further commented, “We believe in offering our patrons and brand enthusiasts the best of driving performance and exquisite products. The introduction of the C-Class Cabriolet reiterates our ‘top of the pyramid’ strategy for the Indian market. We aim to continue our product offensive in India.”
The C-Class Cabriolet is said to be aerodynamic with the roof open, as well as closed, due to the reduction in aerodynamic drag, which also saves fuel. Equipment like the AIRCAP system noticeably reduces the airflow in the interior. The exterior design of the C-Class cabriolet is characterised by a striking front end design with sporty bumper and diamond grille with the central Mercedes star. The new Cabriolet comes with ‘Multibeam LED’ headlamps with pixel-specific beam range and coverage control – said to be the most innovative light and sight system offered by Mercedes-Benz.
The car comes pre-installed with 10.25-inch screen and new generation telematics. This infotainment system supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The car comes with 17-inch, 5-large spoke light alloy wheels. Mercedes-Benz offers an optional 64 colour ambient lighting in the interiors, along with a premium open-pore walnut wood trim.
