Mercedes-Benz India packs a punch at the Auto Expo 2020

Launches the fastest AMG ever in India-the AMG GT 63S 4M+ 4 Door Coupe, unveils the AMG A 35 4M Limousine and the New GLA SUV ahead of India launch.

Mercedes-Benz reiterated its commitment in India by showcasing a series of products at the Auto Expo 2020 that also highlights its objective to retain its leadership position in the luxury car market in India.

The luxury carmaker launched the AMG GT 63 S 4-door coupe, the world's fastest series production four-seater. The new AMG GT 4-Door Coupe delivers a top speed of up to 315 km/h. The six-cylinder in-line and V8 engines with outputs ranging from 320 kW (435 hp) to 470 kW (639 hp) combines impressive performance with modern efficiency. The AMG GT 63S 4M will be priced at Rs 2.42 crore (all prices ex-showroom) in India and bookings are open.

Mercedes-Benz also unveiled the new AMG A 35 Limousine that expands the AMG portfolio as an attractive entry-level model. With the standard all-wheel drive of the new AMG A 35 Limousine, Mercedes-Benz looks to play a key role in further strengthening its strong sedan portfolio. It will be one of the key products to be introduced in India in 2020 and is packed with next generation telematics and infotainment systems. It combines high level of performance and plenty of space for passengers and luggage.

According to MD and CEO, Mercedes-Benz lndia, Martin Schwenk, "These launches are a sign of our confidence in the country' automotive sector. The introduction of the A-Class Limousine is a strategic decision that will further enhance our strong sedan segment and win new customers. The A-Class is the perfect vehicle for young Indians as It is extensively equipped and customisable."

Mercedes-Benz also unveiled the sporty and stylish luxury SUV the new GLA, which had its world premiere in December 2019. The new GLA features an iconic design and offers more convenience, safety and showcased as a testament of modern luxury. Compared to its predecessor, it has become taller and shorter. The A-Class Limousine is likely to be launched in June and GLA in October this year.

The luxury car manufacturer also showcased the Mercedes-AMG C 43 4MATIC Coupé is a sporty, suave and unique offering from the AMG line of the C-Class range and the all-new generation GLE ‘hip-hop’ at the at the 15th edition of the Auto Expo. Packed with cutting-edge active driving assistance and the state-of-the-art MBUX user experience multimedia system, it comes equipped with touch and AI-based voice control.

Visitors also got a glimpse of the services ecosystem of the recently unveiled electric EQC Edition 1886. This also showcases technologies and innovations around electric mobility that Mercedes-Benz believes will redefine the automotive sector.

Speaking at the event, Metthias Luehrs, Head Region Overseas, Mercedes-Benz Cars, said, "India remains an important emerging market for us. Our customers will be at the core of everything we do and it will be our endeavour to offer them the latest products and technologies and the best retail and customer experiences."
