Mercedes-Benz India has launched its 12th AMG model in the country with the launch of the AMG GLE 63 S 4Matic + Coupe, starting at Rs 2.07 crore, ex-showroom India.

The crossover gets 22-inch alloy wheels and the rear culminates with twin-exhaust tail pipes that differentiate it from the regular GLE Coupe.

On the inside, there are two 12.3-inch touchscreens, with the infotainment running Mercedes’ proprietary MBUX operating system. There’s an AMG-specific three-spoke steering wheel with aluminium paddle shifters and AMG-badged Nappa leather seats.

The Mercedes AMG GLE 63 S Coupe is powered by 4.0-litre, twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine that develops 612hp and 850Nm of peak torque. There is a 48V mild-hybrid system on board as well, that assists with an additional 22hp and 250Nm under hard acceleration. The V8 engine, on the other hand, also comes with cylinder deactivation technology. The engine comes mated to a 9-speed AMG Speedshift automatic transmission as well as Mercedes’ 4Matic+ all-wheel drive system is standard.

Mercedes claims a 0-100kph time of 3.8 seconds and the crossover also gets standard air suspension. The Mercedes AMG GLE 63 S Coupe gets blind-spot assist, active brake assist, ESP and dynamic handling control system as standard active safety features.
