Mercedes-Benz India close to scoring a century . . . in dealership count
The company says the inauguration of both the outlets underlines its commitment to reach to the customers in the Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets.
India’s largest luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz today inaugurated two new state-of-the-art outlets in Surat, Gujarat, which now takes the company's retail dealership count in the country to 99 outlets.
The company says the inauguration of both the outlets underlines its commitment to reach out to customers in India's Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets. Martin Schwenk, MD and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, and K M Thakkar, MD, Emerald Motors inaugurated the showroom and the service facility.
Speaking at the inauguration, Schwenk said, “Gujarat is one of the top five markets for Mercedes-Benz and contributes in double digits to our sales volume. Surat is the second biggest market in Gujarat, and we see immense potential here. The inauguration of the 98th and 99th outlets in the country is a manifestation of our successful ‘Go to Customer’ strategy. The economic expansion of the last decade has given rise to a new restless generation of entrepreneurs and propelled the rise of cities like Surat. With our strong partners like Emerald Motors, we are confident that more customers in the ‘Diamond City’ will now have access to the Mercedes-Benz brand.”

The new outlets of Mercedes-Benz India in Surat includes a state-of-the-art showroom (1S) and service facility (2S) with an investment of Rs 8 crore. The showroom is spread across 7,000 square feet and is manned by 15 professionally trained staff; has a seven-car display and one delivery bay. The service facility is spread across 23,000 square feet and has 22 service bays that can service over 5,000 cars a year. The workshop is can support all preventive maintenance and general repair (PMGR) and body & paint repair (B&P) services. The service workshop is manned by 35 trained professionals that ensure all kinds of car related services.
