Maruti Suzuki to reveal Vitara Brezza, Ignis & Baleno RS Concepts at Auto Expo 2016

Along with the cars, Maruti will also showcase the 1.0 Boosterjet engine and a new-generation platform claimed to make vehicles lighter, stronger, safer, more fuel efficient and quieter.

Maruti Suzuki India is to take the covers off the sub-4-metre Vitara Brezza compact SUV on February 3 at the upcoming Auto Expo 2016. It will also use the Expo platform to reveal a new-generation vehicle platform and the Boosterjet engine too.

According to the company, the Vitara Brezza, whose teaser image the carmaker released a week ago, has been designed and engineered by the Maruti Suzuki development teams led chief engineer CV Raman.

The company seems to be targeting the urban SUV buyer with the Vitara Brezza which Maruti says is “bold, sporty and masculine” with “wide 16-inch alloys nestled in distinct squarish wheel arches”. It claims the vehicle will “bring a dash of style and glamour to India’s SUV landscape”.

On February 4, Maruti will unveil the Concept Ignis hatchback which it says, “is set to create waves among India’s fast maturing compact car customers.”

There’s also the aggressively styled Concept Baleno RS, a sporty version of the premium Baleno hatchback, powered by the 1.0 Boosterjet engine, which is a newly developed Direct-Injection Turbo engine “that offers an exhilarating drive”, will be a highlight of Auto Expo 2016. The Concept Baleno RS is built on the new-generation platform that helps make vehicles lighter, stronger, safer, more fuel efficient and quieter.
