Haridwar-based Makino Automotive has entered into a technical partnership with RK Takasago, one of the world leaders in motorcycle chains and OEM supplier to Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Suzuki, KTM and Triumph, among other global OEMs. As part of the collaboration, Makino Automotive will leverage RK Takasago’s expertise in technology to provide the best-in-class quality, performance and service to the two-wheeler automotive aftermarket segment in India.

Makino RK will offer standard and heavy-duty chains with increased strength and durability as per OEM specifications. All these chains will be pre-stressed and pre-stretched for superior performance and to minimize elongation during the life of the chain. Apart from this, the company will also provide excellent quality and cost performance for light duty motorcycle application.

The Indian two-wheeler market is expected to witness a boom from 19.9 million units in FY2017 to nearly 34 million units by FY2020. With this partnership, Makino RK is targeting 10 percent of this sizeable two-wheeler motorcycle aftermarket business in the next three years.
