Mahindra & Mahindra sells 254,701 PVs in FY2019, up 2%

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has reported cumulative sales of 254,701 passenger vehicles in FY2019, up 2 percent over year-ago numbers (FY2018: 249,505). The domestic market sales comprised 235,362 utility vehicles (+1%) and 19,339 cars and vans (+24%).

In March 2019, M&M sold a total of 27,646 units, up 4 percent (March 2018: 26,555) comprising 25,801 UVs (+5%) and 1,845 cars and vans (-6%).

The company’s overall sales numbers encompassing PVs, commercial vehicles and three-wheelers totaled 608,596 units, up 11 percent YoY (FY2018: 549,153).

Commenting on the performance, Rajan Wadhera, President, Automotive Sector, M&M, said, “We have closed FY2019 with robust double-digit growth of 11 percent at an overall level, despite strong headwinds faced by the Indian automotive industry this year. This growth has been supported by our three new product launches, which have been well received in the market. The commercial vehicles segment and exports have also posted strong growth rates of 15% and 37% respectively.”
