Mahindra & Mahindra sells 13,507 PVs in August, down 31%
In line with the rest of the industry, the UV major's sales continue to be down.
Mahindra & Mahindra, like all the passenger vehicle OEMs in the country, continues to feel the heat of the depressed market and consumer sentiment. The company has reported that sales of its PVs, which include UVs, cars and vans, comprised a total of 13,507 vehicles in August 2019, down 31.63 percent YoY (August 2018: 19,758).
Commenting on the performance, Veejay Ram Nakra, Chief of Sales and Marketing, Automotive Division, M&M, said, “The auto industry continues to be subdued in the month of August due to several external factors. We are optimistic and hopeful of a good festive season going ahead.”
As the industry-wide slump in sales continues, Mahindra dealerships are offering sizeable discounts and benefits in order to boost the carmaker's sales. The deals are valid on the entire portfolio of Mahindra cars apart from its flagship SUV – the Alturas G4. Mahindra dealers are currently offering discounts of up to Rs 81,500 on the Mahindra TUV300, Scorpio, XUV300 and the Marazzo.
