Mahindra First Choice opens its first workshop in Kolkata

The company will inaugurate three more workshops in West Bengal over the next month, in Jalpaiguri, Kankinara and Berhampore.

Multi-brand certified used car company, Mahindra First Choice Wheels (MFCW), continued its expansion strategy in Eastern India with the inauguration of its first Franchisee Owned Franchisee Operated (FOFO) workshop in Kolkata, West Bengal. The Kolkata workshop is set up in partnership with Abhi Fuel Center.

The company will inaugurate three more workshops in West Bengal over the next month, in Jalpaiguri, Kankinara and Berhampore. The company plans to set up 20 such workshops in West Bengal by March 2017. MFCW’s pan-India network currently stands at more than 130 workshops.

“We see great potential for the multi-brand car servicing business in this market. Our lean and cost-efficient business model has received an encouraging response from franchisees across the country and in the Eastern region. This is what prompted us to expand our presence further. We intend to close this fiscal with 400+ FOFO workshops nationally. This will help us enhance the scale and depth of our operations and enable us to reach a larger number of customers across the country. Mahindra First Choice Services aims to expand its network to over 500 workshops by 2018 and is investing more than Rs 250 crore, over five years to achieve the goal. The company is also planning to increase its all-India cluster warehouse network from the present 22 to 43, in order to ensure a steady supply of spare parts to its workshops.
