Mahindra Bolero pickup posts best-ever sales of 162,000 units in FY2019

Mahindra & Mahindra has announced that its popular Bolero pickup vehicle range has notched a new milestone with sales crossing the 150,000 unit mark in the domestic market in FY2019.

The Mahindra Bolero pickup range recorded sales of 162,000 units in FY2019, compared to 149,121 units in FY2018, which translates into growth of 9 percent. This, the company says, is the highest ever annual sales growth for Mahindra’s pickup range since its launch.

Commenting on the milestone, Veejay Ram Nakra, chief of sales and marketing - Automotive Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra said, “Mahindra has been the market leader in the pickup segment for over a decade. The journey toward achieving this over 150,000 units milestone of pickups in FY2019 is a proud moment for us. We are grateful to all our customers for their belief in the brand and for the success of our newly launched Maha Bolero Pickup 1.7T.”

The company claims that its pickup range has been the market leader since its launch on the back of its customer-centric approach, in addition to the product offering itself. Mahindra says it has introduced new products and technologies at regular intervals to address evolving customer needs by constantly updating its products, for instance, it introduced the first AC pickup, first 4x4 pickup, first double-cabin pickup, the first CNG and the first micro-hybrid pickup to maintain its market leadership.

At present, the pickup segment in India has sales of over 14,000 vehicles per month and is growing rapidly, and Mahindra says it had 58 percent market share in FY2019.
