Automobili Lamborghini India today launched the Huracan Avio special edition in Delhi at a starting price of Rs 3.71 crore.

This is the first time the super luxury carmaker has brought a special edition car to India from Italy to give prospective Indian customers a look and feel of the snazzy model.

“India is a dynamic emerging market for Lamborghini. Over the past few years, we have been excited to witness a growing supercar culture in the country. The special edition Huracan Avio with its innovation reflects bravery and courage to cross all boundaries and challenging all kinds of human possibilities,” said Andrea Baldi, general manager Asia-Pacific region, Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A.

At present Lamborghini has three showrooms in India in the north, south and west of the country and maintains that its current supercar sales are in a high three-digit number. Deliveries of the Huracan Avio in India will take about 5-6 months for each car, depending on the level of customisation and personalisation each customer demands.

Highlighting the profile of Lamborghini customers in India, Sharad Agarwal, head, Lamborghini India, said it comprises mostly second- and third-generation entrepreneurs. Even young first-generation entrepreneurs are showing keen interest in purchasing the supercar.

Changes to the Huracán Avio are cosmetic in nature and have been inspired taken from the Italian Air Force. The exterior gets a dual-tone finish with the lower half of the bumpers and side skirts finished in contrast colour. The car also gets offset twin racing stripes on the bonnet and roof, and L63 decals on both flanks. Lamborghini is offering five unique paint shades for the special-edition car.

The interior features black leather and Alcantara upholstery, with the exclusive ‘L63’ logo embroidered on the seats. The L63 badges and decals on the car hint towards the company’s founding year with' L' standing for Lamborghini and '63' for the automaker’s founding year. The car also gets features such as cruise control, GPS and a suspension lift system to raise ride height.

The Avio is powered by the same naturally aspirated 610hp 5.2-litre V10 engine as its standard sibling, with power being channeled to all four wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

Lamborghini is opening a 5-day window for buyers in India to book the Huracan Avio which will have a limited production run of 250 cars. The Huracan draws its name, colour and materials from the world of aviation and aeronautics.
