Lalamove launches Deliver Care campaign to transport essential supplies in India

Lalamove has instructed all its driver partners to use facemasks and sanitizers during the delivery and off delivery time.

Lalamove, an on-demand logistics company has announced its Deliver Care campaign in order to collaborate with SME’s, NGO’s and other stakeholders to meet the needs and requirement of the local population.

The campaign focusses on ensuring uninterrupted transportation and delivery of essential supplies in the country. Commenting on the launch of the Deliver Care campaign, John Tang, co-founder and director, Lalamove said: “Lalamove is committed to supporting the communities that we work in. The global Covid-19 pandemic is one of the biggest challenges that we’ve ever had to face, but we know that we are stronger when we work together. That’s why we have launched our ‘deliver care’ campaign to help facilitate the transportation and delivery of essential medical, food and sanitary items from donors, NGOs and businesses to communities that need them.”

The company says it is working towards ensuring a smooth supply of facemask, by arranging vehicles from Bangalore to Mangalore for dispatching the raw material for making masks. Lalamove’s driver partners are receiving thousands of delivery orders on a daily basis from cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi NCR, Pune, Chennai, and Hyderabad. The deliveries are conducted on Lalamove’s two-wheeler and four-wheeled vehicles.

In Bangalore itself, the company says it serves around 72 clients that operate in the food and beverage industry and deliver their goods to the native people. On a daily basis delivering around 300 packages from these clients. The key brands which Lalamove is serving include CakeZone, Bajo foods, Licious, Cake Shop.

The logistics company is also actively working with Milkbasket to meet the requirements of milk supplies within the cities that they are present and have received movement passes from the government for the fulfilment of essentials within the cities. In order to continue with their efforts to ensure that the essential goods are delivered during the lockdown safely, Lalamove has instructed all its driver partners to use facemasks and sanitizers during the delivery and off delivery time. To further incentivise the partners, they have been transferring a fixed amount to their wallets so that they can purchase the masks and sanitizers for themselves and family members.

Lalamove is an on-demand logistics company that connects customers and drivers through technology. The company began its operations in India in December 2018 and at present operates in six cities – Mumbai, Pune, Delhi (NCR), Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai. The company plans to expand services in 18 new cities in the next two years.
