Austrian motorcycle manufacturer, KTM, which is known for manufacturing high-performance motorcycles, today launched its lowest-capacity product, the 125 Duke ABS, in India at Rs 118,163 (ex-showroom Delhi).

While KTM has been locally producing 125cc, 200cc, 250cc and 373cc motorcycles in India, it had been selling all models except the small-capacity 125cc. With today's launch, the company has expanded its portfolio in the sub-400cc motorcycles in the domestic market.

As is known, Pune-based Bajaj Auto has an about 48 percent stake in KTM AG and an arrangement to make sub-400cc motorcycles for the Austrian brand, which is also Europe's largest selling motorcycle company by volumes. The Indian partner is also responsible for setting up retail channels and driving sales of the KTM models in the tough ASEAN markets.

The 125 Duke carries the same KTM styling as its larger engine sibling, the 200 Duke. The 125 Duke develops 14.5hp of power, comes with a trellis frame and an aluminium swingarm and a host of premium equipment not seen in a motorcycle in the segment thus far. It includes an upside-down front suspension and ABS.

Speaking at the launch, Amit Nandi, president - Probiking,  Bajaj Auto, said “KTMs are always about high performance, edgy design and a thrilling ride. The 125 Duke will be the new stepping stone into the KTM brand for riders starting out in the world of racing.”

The KTM 125 Duke ABS has been launched at an introductory price of Rs 118,163 (ex-showroom Delhi) and will be available across 450 exclusive KTM showrooms in India.
