Klüber Lubrication inaugurates new plant in Mysore

Klüber Lubrication, a part of Germany-based Freudenberg Chemical Specialities (FCS), inaugurated its state-of-the-art laboratories, production and warehousing facilities at its existing site in Mysore.

FCS was one of the first global automobile lubricant manufacturers to introduce speciality chemical solutions to the Indian market through its global brands Klüber Lubrication, OKS, Chem-Trend and Sur-Tec.

The new facility has been built with an investment of Rs 135 crore and will cater to various applications in the automotive, food, cement, steel, textile, and general industries for both domestic as well as global markets.

Covering an area of 17,000 square metres, the expanded facilities will make the Mysore plant one of the biggest of its kind in the FCS world. The new site will become a hub for innovation with its comprehensive test facility and R&D centre, catering to the needs of Asia Pacific region for speciality lubricants, release agents and maintenance products.

The site will have manufacturing facilities for speciality lubricating oils, greases, pastes, aerosols and release agents across Klüber Lubrication, OKS and Chem-Trend brands.

FASTER TIME TO MARKET
Jagadesh Rudriah Channiah, director (Production & Technology), Klüber Lubrication India, said, “To serve the markets we are in, we need quick response time, advanced R&D and test capabilities to meet the changing requirements of the industry. Our new facility will help us in doing this and be closer to our customers.”

Klüber Lubrication develops and manufactures speciality lubricants including oils, greases, pastes and bonded coatings to serve diverse industries. They have been working with all the leading OEMs across the globe including India in addressing their challenging lubrication needs through application engineering coupled with value added services.

The Mysore plant has been focused on developing products which meets the demands of customers locally and globally. With this facility, Klüber Lubrication says it has been able to jointly work with Indian customers in the automotive, steel and textile industries and develop customised lubrication solutions.

Chem-Trend produces high performance release agents, purge compounds and ancillary products related to moulding, casting and forming operations in industries like die casting, polyurethane, tyre, rubber, composites and thermoplastics. The new facility will enable Chem-Trend to work closely with customers in developing new products with faster response time.
