Kawasaki launches BS VI Z900, targets midsize bike buyers looking to upgrade to litre class

Model Year 2020 Kawasaki Z900 gets a host of electronic aids to enhance performance and rider friendliness.

As OEMs get a fix on BS VI, whose April 1, 2020 deadline draws nearer, the race to launch compliant products is hotting up. The latest to announce a BS VI-compliant product is India Kawasaki Motors with its Model Year 2020 Z900.

The Kawasaki Z900, which is powered by a 948cc, inline four-cylinder engine, sports 'sugomi' styling which comprises of a crouching stance, low-positioned head and upswept tail, a stronger frame, improved suspension settings, all-LED lighting, 4.3-inch TFT colour instrumentation, Kawasaki Traction Control, power mode and integrated riding modes selection, smartphone connectivity and is shod with Dunlop Sportsmax Roadsport 2 tyres

The Z900 will be available in 2 colours (Metallic Graphite Gray/Metallic Spark Black, Metallic Spark Black/Metallic Flat Spark Black).

India Kawasaki Motors says the new MY2020 Z900 delivers a "fantastic response time and rewarding performance." The company is targeting riders looking to upgrade from the middle-weight segment to the litre-class segment. The new emission norms will increase the price ranging between Rs 850,000 to Rs 900,000 (ex-showroom).
