JK Tyre appoints Vivek Kamra as president – India

JK Tyre & Industries has announced the appointment of Vivek Kamra as its president – India. The appointment comes following Arun K Bajoria’s elevation to director and president – International Operations.

JK Tyre & Industries  has announced the appointment of Vivek Kamra as its president – India.  The appointment comes following Arun K Bajoria’s elevation to director and president – International Operations.

Mr Kamra has extensive experience in spearheading businesses for almost a decade. Before joining JK Tyre, he was based in Singapore as president and CEO, NatSteel Holding. He had led and mentored diverse teams across geographies for over 25 years. Mr Kamra, who holds a B.Tech degree from IIT Mumbai and has done Business Management from XLRI, Jamshedpur, has attended the Business Management programme at INSEAD – the Business School for the World. 

Dr Raghupati Singhania, chairman and managing director, JK Tyre, said, “I am sure that Mr Kamra will provide adept leadership and lead JK Tyre on a new growth trajectory.”

JK Tyre & Industries ranks among the top 25 global tyre manufacturers in the world with a wide range of products catering to diverse business segments in the four-wheeler automobile industry. It has a presence in 100 countries across six continents with six plants in India and three in Mexico. Currently, the capacity across 9 plants exceeds 20 million tyres per annum. 

The company, which pioneered radial technology in India in 1977, is the leader in the truck and bus radial segment and makes tyres for trucks and buses, LCVs, passenger cars, MUVs and tractors. A company statement said it is a preferred supplier to OEMs and supplies to Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Honda, Ashok Leyland, Mahindra & Mahindra, Volvo Eicher, General Motors, Volkswagen, Fiat, Nissan, TAFE, BEML and Caterpillar India.
