JCBL Marrel Tipper deploys solar panel-rooftop at Chennai plant
On completion, the solar rooftop project, which has a capacity at 1500 KW, will produce 7,500 units of electricity daily, surpassing the plant's daily consumption needs.
JCBL Marrel Tippers Ltd (JML), a JCBL Group company, has inaugurated a rooftop solar facility at its Chennai unit. The project has seen an initial investment of Rs 1.2 crore in the first phase of the rooftop solar project.
On completion, the solar rooftop project, which has a capacity at 1500 KW, will produce 7,500 units of electricity daily, surpassing the plant's daily consumption needs. The excess power generated will be sold externally, contributing to additional revenue streams for the company.
JML is expected to generate approximately 1,500 units of electricity daily from 9 am to 6 pm with the first phase of the project. It is poised to meet 50% of the unit's daytime power requirements. Any surplus energy produced during non-operational hours will be integrated into the power grid, rendering the unit self-sufficient and generating additional revenue for the company.
Rishi Aggarwal, MD, JCBL Group, said: “With the installation of the solar panels, we are one step closer to reducing our carbon footprint. Sustainability is a core value that drives our operations at JCBL Group.”
