Italy’s OMS sees growing demand for its common-rail parts

Italy-based OMS, the global aftermarket supplier of common-rail and diesel injection spare parts, has decided to expand its network in India as to meet growing demand for parts of common-rail diesel systems of Bosch.

The Italian company has a range of spare parts, which can be used in aftermarket servicing of the common-rail systems from Bosch, Denso and Delphi. In India, the company has been primarily supplying spare parts for Bosch’s common-rail as it is widely fitted in vehicles, the company said.

In an interaction with Autocar Professional at the recently held ACMA Automechanika New Delhi, Susanna Zamboni, export manager of OMS, said that India is a major market for the company. Currently it has one national distributor in Chandigarh. “We are in the process of appointing two more distributors, primarily in South India, so as to reach all parts of the country to address the aftermarket business.

Globally the company clocks around 10 million euros in revenue with one manufacturing facility in Italy and its products are being exported to several countries including India. The company has been selling its products in India since the past five years, she said.

Many of the cars in India are now new but will need repairs in areas like common-rail after some years, which the company foresees as a good business opportunity, said Zamboni.
OMS’s main product portfolio includes filter tops and spares, complete corp port injectors and spares, inline pump and spares, injection pump, regulators, submergible pumps, feed pump spares, diaphragm pumps and shaft seals.
