Developed under the MeitY programme for indigenous development of EV sub-systems, the tech has been transferred to M/s Brushless Motor India for commercial production
An indigenous, efficient, affordable and certified BLDC (brushless DC) motor and smart controller for electric rickshaws has been developed by IIT Kharagpur, under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology’s (MeitY) programme for indigenous development of electric vehicle sub-systems.
On July 5, this technology was transferred to M/s Brushless Motor India for commercial production. In attendance were Alkesh Kumar Sharma, Secretary, MeitY; Dr Jaideep Kumar Mishra, Additional Secretary, MeitY; Smt Sunita Verma, Group Co-ordinator (R&D in Electronics), MeitY; Dr Somnath Sengupta, IIT Kharagpur and Om Krishan Singh, Scientist D, MeitY.
