The International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT) hosted a two day Conference on the Powertrain Technology on October 11–12, 2018 at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
The conference aimed to help the industry on their path to meet the new requirements in terms of product development and regulatory compliance in the present day scenario for India. The discussions involved the developments and implementations of new and efficient technologies for the future of automobiles.
This was the third conference organised by ICAT after having organised similar conferences on Powertrain technology in 2015 and 2016 in addition to the four successful workshops on the Hybrid and EV Technology - 'Workshop on HEV & EV', in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014.
The conference brought together industry, research and academic experts in the powertrain domain from India and across the globe, who shared and discussed their learnings and experiences along with new proposals as solutions to the challenges faced by the engineering industry in the Indian and internationally.

In addition to huge participation, the conference saw speakers from notable organisations such as Avl, Honda Cars, MG Motors, IIT-Kanpur, Bosch, Cummins, Etas, Horiba, Maruti Suzuki, Lpc, Hero Electric, Twenty Two Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, Indian Oil, Kistler and Ecma, sharing their perspective on the future of mobility in the country.
The presentations and discussions focused and analysed current trends, upcoming technologies, strategies and pathways for new product developments to meet the stringent timelines, adhering to regulatory compliance while still keeping the products competent.
This conference and deliberations set down pathways for embarking into a journey for the automotive industry, where it will come up with better and efficient mobility solutions for a cleaner, greener and proficient automotive regime in India.
