The customer is king, and Hyundai Motor India is going all out to enhance the skills of its service advisors as well as customer care managers, both key executives when it comes to managing customers and enhancing the total customer satisfaction quotient.

Hyundai Motor India recently conducted its sixth Service Advisor and third Customer Care Manager National Skill Championship at the state-of-the-art Hyundai Central Training Center at Faridabad. The inter-dealership competition identifies skill and honours the best talents amongst dealer service advisors and customer care managers nationwide. This year, over 1,300 service workshops and over 3,000 service advisors along with 577 customer care managers participated in the skill championship. The contest, which kicked off on May 28, 2019 at Hyundai dealerships across India, was followed by state-level competitions in June and zonal level competitions in July.

According to S Punnaivanam, vice-presdent and National Service Head of Hyundai Motor India, “Hyundai’s Annual National Skill Championship is aimed at honoring, encouraging and elevating the most deserved personnel in the Hyundai Service Family. The skill enhancement program endeavours to upgrade the skills of service advisors and customer care managers to enhance proficiency and make them future-ready and meet customer expectations.”

Out of the total participants, 15 service advisors and 10 customer care managers qualified for the finale of the Hyundai National Skill Championships held at Faridabad. The participants were tested for their ability to delight customers in a simulated role-play to meet ever-increasing customer expectations and Hyundai standards. The skill fest also evaluated the participant’s adaptability to the concept of digital service – workshop automation. The contest also consisted of multiple rounds of role-plays, interviews and written tests. A key highlight of this year’s championship was the first-ever digital edition – paperless from written assessment to role-play evaluation through various Hyundai mobile apps.

Hyundai Motor India says it will further enhance the skills of the top six winners over a year and send the top two advisors to represent the company at the Hyundai Motor Group’s Global Customer Experience Skill Championship 2020 to be held in Seoul, South Korea.

At present, Hyundai Motor India is developing and nurturing skills of 7,650 technicians; 3,293 service advisors and 4,534 customer care team on continuous basis.
