Honeywell India, which has participated in all the Automotive Testing Expos held in India thus far, has displayed a slew of products that include pressure transducers and TEDS (transducer electronic data sheets) at ATS 2014 in Chennai. A company official said these products are made at the company's global facility in Columbus, Ohio and will be imported into India as per customer requirement.
However, as a result of a volatile foreign exchange rate against the US dollar, pricing these products smartly for the Indian market has been difficult. Therefore, the company is considering localising these products, especially the more volume-driven pressure transducers, in either China or Mexico, and then introduce them in India.
Honeywell India, which has its headquarters at Pune, has an applications laboratory that attempts to understand Indian customer requirements. The company has participated regularly at various editions of the Automotive Testing Expo including the editions in Shanghai and Korea.
