About two months after the availability of Honda NAVI, a crossover between a motorcycle and a scooter, it has crossed the 10,000 unit sales mark.

Commenting on the NAVI’s new sales milestone, Yadvinder Singh Guleria, senior vice president, Sales & Marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) said, “We are delighted with the overwhelming response for NAVI from customers, especially from urban trendsetting youth. Unconventional design, looks and endless possibilities of customization, make owning NAVI a fantastic experience. The unique appeal has made it a rage in the two-wheeler industry. While we celebrate 10,000 units of NAVI and expand the NAVI phenomenon to new cities, the number of bookings is increasing. NAVI is a three-in-one package with the ride feel of a motorcycle, comfort of a scooter and fun of a customized creation”

The NAVI had received 900 bookings within five weeks of its unveiling at the Auto Expo 2016 in February. The two-wheeler, which is manufactured at the company’s Tapukara plant in Rajasthan, is mainly targeted 18-24 year-olds in urban areas.

Honda NAVI is powered by Activa 110cc engine which makes 8PS at 7,000rpm and delivers a peak torque of 8.96Nm at 5,500rpm. The Navi runs on 12" front and 10" rear wheels, each equipped with a 130mm drum-type braking unit, and gets tubeless tyres. It gets upside-down telescopic forks at the front and a hydraulic mono-shock at the rear.

Made only in India for the Indian market, the NAVI is priced at Rs 39,648 (ex-showroom Delhi).
