Honda and MAK Lubricants launch co-branded two-wheeler engine oil

Branded ‘MAK Honda Power’, the engine oil has been tested and recommended by Honda Motor Co Japan as being specially formulated by BPCL for Honda motorcycles and scooters in India.

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has launched its new co-branded ‘MAK Honda Power’ engine oil in association with MAK Lubricants, from Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. Branded ‘MAK Honda Power’, the engine oil has been tested and recommended by Honda Motor Co Japan as being specially formulated by BPCL for Honda motorcycles and scooters in India.

The two grades of engine oil are MAK Honda Power 10W30 MA for Honda motorcycles and MAK Honda Power 10W30 MB for Honda scooters. The co-branded oil will be available in the open-market from November 2018.  The new engine oil’s highlights are a quick start, rapid acceleration, fuel efficiency gains; high level of engine protection for longer life; keeps engine components clean and free from deposits; and lower maintenance costs.

Speaking at the product launch in New Delhi yesterday, Pradeep Kumar Pandey, senior vice-president – Customer Service, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, said, “We have joined hands with MAK Lubricants (BPCL) to launch the new MAK Honda Power engine oil specially developed and recommended by Honda Motor Co Japan for Honda two-wheeler engines.”

V Anand, executive director – Lubes, Bharat Petroleum, said, “The new co-branded product offering will be made available across country through BPCL extensive distribution network of retail outlets and bazaar channel partners.

BPCL’s MAK Lubricants is one of the leading channels in terms of engine oil brand, distribution and marketing. The growth of the lubricants market in India has been driven by the continued demand for two-wheelers. According to HMSI, its Honda Genuine Oil currently holds 28 percent share in the engine oil component market.
