Honda Activa rides past the 20 million sales mark

While it took 15 years to achieve the first 10 million sales, the new milestone has been notched in just three years, indicative of the growing demand for scooters across the country.

Honda Activa rides past the 20 million sales mark

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has announced that India’s highest selling two-wheeler scooter, the Activa, has crossed the cumulative 20 million or 2 crore sales landmark. While it took 15 years to achieve 10 million sales, the new milestone has been notched in just three years.

Minoru Kato, president and CEO, HMSI, said “Over 18 years and five generations, Honda 2Wheelers India continuously added value to exceed customers expectations and make the Activa the most preferred choice of two-wheeler buyers.” 

Yadvinder Singh Guleria, senior vice-president - Sales & Marketing, HMSI, said, “Since its launch in 2001 as Honda’s first two-wheeler in India, the Activa has successfully re-activated the Indian automatic scooter market and redefined convenient mobility on two wheels for India.
